Course Content

The introduction to the course Football Economics begins with analysing and clarifying a number of central concepts from the subject area. Initial focus is on the various economic aspects of the various continents and countries. Then, important figures and concepts are discussed so that everyone has a clear understanding of the different situations that create an economic impact. Following a definition of the key concepts we take a look at the economic growth of the football industry. Next, we analyse the current economic situation in football clubs and we analyse the fees and clauses of transfers of players and trainers. Finally, we discuss the main economic levers and events in upcoming football markets, e.g. China and India.
